Southern Illinois – Evansville, Indiana – St. Louis, Missouri
Hi, I’m Rhonda..wife, mother, photographer, chicken chasing, urban farmer. Originally from southern Illinois, I grew up on a farm with a big family. My dad was a coal-miner, while mom stayed at home. After high school I ran off to the big city of San Francisco where I met my future husband Darrell. After living up and down the west coast, we decided it was time to raise a little family of our own. The city was no place to raise our babies..so we packed up and moved back to the midwest. I went back to school for a BFA in Arts Education while Darrell photographed small weddings and editorials for magazines. A few babies later and I decided to scratch becoming a teacher and instead become a child, and family photographer. I enjoy working with little ones. They are the truest human beings..innocent and new. Their smiles, cries, joy, and enthusiasm are real. You won’t see many posed images on my site. I want the truth. The dirt, the tears, the real smiles, the messes, the true childhood. I want to be your storyteller.
I am full time wife, and mother to three little girls, Astrud, Margot & Esme. If I’m not behind the camera you’ll most likely find me in the garden. I collect old camera’s (what photographer doesn’t?)..the only difference is I use almost every camera I find both film and digital. Someday I want to learn how to process wet plates in large format cameras. We develop and process all of our film at home. If you have an old roll I’ll develop for you!
I want to thank you for visiting my blog, if you need your story told, you know where to find me.
